Anne Marie Norman I worked this summer on the development of a single pulsed, nanoparticle assited photothermal therapy in the Bio Heat and Mass Transfer lab with Professor John C. Bischof. In this picture I am looking at one of my experimental flasks of human prostate cancer cells to make sure they are healthy and ready to be tested. |

Sharon Snyder This summer, I worked with Prof. Klamecki on a continuing project to develop smart materials for seals (o-rings). For my research, I investigated the effects of chemical treatments on the mechanical properties and physical behavior of polyurethane. |

Sarah Witmer My project is on the production of hydrogen in a carbon free cycle. Zinc is oxidized with water, producing hydrogen and zinc oxide. The zinc oxide is then recycled into pure zinc again using solar thermal energy. In this picture, I am measuring the centerline temperature of our reactor in which the zinc oxidation takes place. |
