Research Major research interests encompass the development/applicability of interdisciplinary finite-element modeling/analysis methodologies and architectures for structure/thermal/fluid interactions in the general area of computational mechanics; manufacturing applications; computational methods, algorithms, and mixed time-integration techniques for applicability to computational mechanics on supercomputer architectures; adaptive/automated finite-element developments and modeling/analysis strategies; structural/multi-body dynamics and wave propagation, nonlinear/linear solid mechanics, and large/aerospace structures; solidification and thermal stresses; computational heat transfer in composite/isotropic structures and numerical methods in thermal problems; and CAD/FEM interface and geometric modeling of engineering components/configurations. Much of the research focuses on providing new and significant advancements in the development and applicability of computational methods and computer-aided analysis and design techniques for the simulation of practical engineering problems and those encountered in mathematics and the physical sciences. |
