Research

Research interests are in fluid power, control of printing and imaging systems, paper manufacturing and robotics, nonlinear and intelligent control, biomechanics, rehabilitation engineering, transportation systems, and manufacturing. Application areas include: control of general mechanical systems, media and material transport systems, transportation systems, biomedical devices, and rehabilitation engineering. Recent and current research includes passive velocity field control of mechanical systems, control and mechanical design interplay, active learning, distributed control of large scale systems, robust control of printing process, Automated Vehicle and Highway Systems (AVHS), self-optimizing control, and control of exercise machines.
