Mechanical Engineering Advisory Council

Gregory Sherwood
Guidant Corporation

Mr. Sherwood received his BSME from the University of Colorado and his MSME from the University of Minnesota. He is a licensed Professional Engineer.

Mr. Sherwood’s industrial experience includes: laser and optical system design and manufacturing with Spectra Physics; manufacturing, circuit module design and cooling system design at Cray Computer Corporation; heat transfer fluid and system design and applications with 3M Specialty Chemicals Division; and currently, a Senior Principal R&D Engineer at Guidant Corporation in Arden Hills, MN. His current work involves research and development of energy systems technology used in implantable pacemakers and defibrillators.

Mr. Sherwood’s areas of expertise include machine design, thermal management system design using passive and active fluid systems, and mechanical design and packaging of electrochemical systems used for energy generation or storage.
