Ken Hallberg graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1960 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and in 1967 with an MBA from the Carlson School.
He joined 3M in 1957 as a co-op work-study student and in 1960 became a full-time employee - retiring in 1997. His career at 3M was in various manufacturing areas, at locations including St. Paul, New Ulm, and Brussels. The last 20 years at 3M he was Manufacturing Director, supporting a wide variety of U.S. and international operations.
Since retiring in 1997, he has been very active with grandchildren, international travel, and volunteering in suport of affordable housing, education, lake and watershed management, and starting in 2004 - very active in organizing the Minnesota Nanotechnology Initiative (MN Nano).
