Atmospheric Aerosol Research-Atmospheric Aerosol Properties
We have developed techniques for measuring fundamental physical/chemical
properties of atmospheric aerosols. These include relative humidity-dependent
equilibrium water content, particle density, particle refractive index,
and particle shape. Such information is needed when aerosol properties
such as mass concentration, light scattering and absoprtion, and deposition
on surfaces and in the lungs are calculated from measured size distributions.
