(SAFETY GLASSES ARE NO LONGER BEING SOLD IN THE STUDENT SHOP) Boyton Health Service Eye Clinic has a "Safety Eyewear Program" where individuals may purchase prescription as well as non prescrition safety eyewear. From the Mechanical Engineering Shop Committee "It has been brought to our attention that there is some inappropriate use of the Student' Shop. An example would be a student worker who is an employee of a sponsored research project being asked to use the Students' Shop to build fixtures for another student or faculty on that project. This is contrary to the purpose of the Students' Shop, which is to give undergraduate and graduate students a well-equipped and safe environment to work on their student projects, including thesis projects. This shop is not to be a low-cost alternative to the Research Shop. Appropriate use of the Students' Shop would be for 1) fabrication by a graduate student in support that person's thesis research or 2) fabrication by an undergraduate student in support that person's undergraduate research project, honors thesis research project, or independent study project or by a group of ungraduates in support of their student project or design project. We request that you ask your research group to conduct their work accordingly. We do not allow this inappropriate use" Catalog Selection/FAX There is a catalog selection from various vendors on a wide range of products just inside the main door in the student shop ME Room 180. Design students should see Mel for information on using the fax machine for incoming faxes. ACCESS Link
