Initial Safety Training

All new employees in the Mechanical Engineering Department are required to take Initial Safety Training conducted by the Department of Environmental Health and Safety (DEHS).

On-line Training Modules

Go to http://www.dehs.umn.edu/training_newlabsafety.htm and take the three training modules.

1. Introduction to Research Safety
2. Chemical Safety
3. Chemical Waste Management

Annual Update Safety Training

All employees who work in a laboratory in the Mechanical Engineering Department are required to take annual Safety Training conducted by the Department of Environmental Health and Safety (DEHS). It usually occurs at the beginning of Fall Semester. A DVD can be checked out for those who are absent for the classroom training session.
