Your default itlabs account has a storage limit of 10 megabytes. While this may be enough for most programmming projects, it is woefully inadequate for work involving Pro/Engineer.

As a solution to this, you are given space in the /class partition. You will have, in addition to the 10 megabytes in your regular itlabs account, 50 megabytes.

To get to this partition, type:

cd /class/user0001
Where user0001 is your username (the name you type into the login screen.

Even though you have 50 megabytes, care should still be taken to prevent excessive disk usage. Here are some tips for doing this:

  • Purge your directory often with the purge command. This removes old copies of parts, assemblies, and drawings, and is one of the most important things you can do to keep your disk usage low.
  • Don't save plot files (*.plt). They are easy to generate when you need them, and they take up far too much space.
