Financial Aid:

The University of Minnesota Department of Mechanical Engineering awards two undergraduate scholarships each year to ASHRAE student members.

ASHRAE funds several undergraduate engineering scholarships. The deadline for applications is December 1. Basic ASHRAE criteria for scholarship applications are:

  • A cumulative college grade point average of at least 3.0, where 4.0 is the highest.
  • Enrollment in an engineering or engineering technology college curriculum with at least one full year of studies remaining in the year the scholarship will be awarded.
  • Potential service to the HVAC and/or refrigeration profession
  • Need for financial assistance
  • Leadership ability
  • Recommendation for instructor and others
  • Character

ASHRAE also funds graduate student fellowships, called Grants-in-Aid.
