Two Summer Internships at Nova-Tech Engineering, Willmar, Minnesota

Nova-Tech Engineering, a global leader in hatchery automation systems, is looking for two interns to work on a BioEnergy initiative project during the summer of 2009. For more information about our company, please visit www.nova-tech-eng.com. We are located on the beautiful MinnWest Technology Campus in Willmar, MN – approx 100 miles west of Minneapolis. These positions will require a minimum of 40 hours per week, and will have a duration of 10-14 weeks.
1. Chemical Engineering Undergrad or Grad Student: Applicants must be of Junior standing or better, or be enrolled in a Masters or PhD program, in Chemical Engineering. Candidates must also have a field of study in their educational curriculum that includes identification, assessment, analysis, and testing of Biomass as a source of energy. These areas of Biomass study can include wood by-products, agricultural products, agricultural waste, animal waste, and/or sewage. Direct work or study in the area of Thermo-Chemical conversion of biomass to energy is a plus.

2. Mechanical Engineer or Equivalent 4 Year Program: Applicants must be at least Junior standing. Candidates must also have a field of study in their educational curriculum that includes the design and testing of systems with the purpose of extracting energy from Biomass. Knowledge of, and an understanding of, the processes and systems involved in Combustion, Gasification, and Pyrolysis of Biomass is a requirement. This position will include design, fabrications, and hands-on testing of energy extraction systems, data collection and analysis of system performance.
