Graduate Application Checklist

Please use this checklist to be sure that you have obtained, distributed, and returned all the necessary application materials for graduate work in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering at the University of Minnesota. Checklist pdf

1. Application materials to send to the Graduate School for admission consideration: (Send photocopies of all original application materials to Department of Mechanical Engineering)

____ Graduate School application fee $75.00 for U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents and $95.00 if you are not a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.

The Graduate School does not waive or defer the application fee. They will not begin to process your application until they receive the application fee. There are no exceptions to this policy.

____ Personal Statement. Include at the end of your statement your first and second choices for areas of study and list your recommenders and their contact information.

____ Official transcripts requested from all colleges attended

____ GRE (general test) scores

____ TOEFL scores (if applicable)

2. Application materials to send to the Mechanical Engineering Department (which includes Industrial Engineering):

Please be sure to apply and send copies of all materials by Dec. 15th to be considered for financial support.

GRE, and TOEFL scores.

____ If on-line letters are not sumbitted: Three letters of recommendation (required to be considered for fellowships and assistantships)
