Every student in ME 2011 receives the ME 2011 Robot Kit as a loan for the duration of the course. The kit includes tools, instrumentation and components to aid in product dissection, design creation and the robot project. The Robot Kit on loan combined with the Tool Kit that you purchase for the course allows you to examine products and build design projects in your dorm room or apartment without having to rely on the school's shops.
To make sure all equipment is returned at the end of the course, you sign an robot kit contract (.pdf file) which states that if something is missing and you haven't paid for it, you will get an F in the course. If things are missing from your kit when you receive it, notify your section instructor right away.
The ME 2011 Robot Kit contains the following items that must be returned, per your contract:
