Rules and Guidelines for Quizzes and Exams

Closed book/notes policy: All quizzes and exams will be closed book, closed notes, closed computers, unless otherwise stated.

Topics covered: All quizzes and exams will be cumulative, meaning that they will cover all material lectured on up until the time of the quiz or exam. That includes material covered in lecture on the day of the exam. Material covered since the previous exams will be featured more heavily, but older material may be included too (so don't forget it as soon as you finish the exam!)

Sources for test questions: Material that may appear on the quiz or exams may be drawn from the book, homework problems and practice exercises, materials presented in lecture (including materials written on the board such as an example of line balancing), quest lectures, or extra reading materials assigned.

What you may bring: Calculators, pens, pencils and erasers, and a "cheat sheet" on which you can write what ever you wish. For the quiz, the cheat sheet may be a single, standard sized sheet of paper. You may write on both front and back. You may either write or type it -- the typeface may be as small as you wish.
For the regular exams, you may bring two sheets of paper, written on front and back.
For the final exam, you may bring three sheets of paper, written on front and back.

Exam Schedule: see the course schedule.

Exam Make-up Policy: Make up exams will not be given except in the case of a doctor-excused illness, verified by the department head.
