Fixing a motor with no lead tabs

Help, the connection tabs on my motor have broken. What should I do?

The answer is to perform the fix yourself. Here's how.

So your motor looks like this, with the connection tabs broken

With a hot soldering iron, dig down into the plastic a bit and deposit a blob of solder on the remnant connection.

Your blob will look something like this. Repeat for the other terminal.

Tin the end of two lead wires with solder, then melt the blob slightly and jam the wires in. Like this.

Attach the wires to a battery and confirm the motor works.

The final touch is to bend the wires so they run along the case (avoid strain in the solder joint), and then tape securely to the case with electrical tape. Now you have a permenant set of new leads for your motor.
